7/25 Hwy 14A on the way to Deadwood S.D.

After turning south off I-90 at Spearfish S.D., we traveled the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway to 7,000 ft Terry Ski Hill. Coming down the hill we started having break trouble. Thank heavens Terry knows how to fix things.... so more break fluid and some work and we were on our way to this KOA between Lead and Deadwood S.D. This weekend is "76 Weekend" to celebrate the years since 1876 when gold was discovered in Deadwood and Lead. Lucky to get a camp spot at the KOA, we are here for tonight and tomorrow night. We will take a shuttle into Deadwood to see reinactments of gun fights, tours of gold mines and maybe put some of our money into the casinos. Supposedly the casinos must return 80% of the money they take in from the gamblers. It is a little town which reminds us of Wallace Idaho, only the canyon is much narrower. Driving down the main street with the RV was definitely a harrowing experience. Our RV seems very huge when we are in a little space like along narrow two lane roads in the woods or in a town. Terry is so good at driving and backing up. Matty just sleeps as we drive, but when we leave, she is on guard.
