8/22/08 Gray Line Tour of Niagara

8/22/08 Gray Line Tour of Niagara
The tour we booked with Gray Line Tours was fantastic. In five hours we saw it all on the American side of the falls. Having someone else do the driving up and down the edge of the river and giving us history that we wouldn’t have had on our own was wonderful. The Maid of the Mist Boat Ride was amazing. Terry kept taking pictures with his handkerchief available to shield the camera from the water. The 4-D movie at Thunder Theater “The Legend of Niagara Falls” was different than a 3-D movie because mist fell on us during the movie and the wind blew through the theater. About 9 pm we arrived at the Cave-of-the-Winds and got into our yellow raincoats and non-slip shoes. Yep, they gave us little blue and green sandals to keep our footing safe on the water soaked wooden steps right along the edge of Bridal Veil Falls. At the closest part of the wooden walkway hanging on the side of Goat Island next to the falls we were about 25 feet from the water. The mist coming off of the falls covered my glasses and since it was dark, walking was somewhat precarious. Then the fireworks started at 10 pm and wow, watching fireworks going off inside of the Horseshoe Falls was fantastic. The mist of the falls, the lights of the city on the Canadian side of the falls, and the fireworks caused me to give thanks to God for Terry’s life. I felt we were celebrating his survival, as we were drenched at this surreal spot. Thank you God for all you have given us.
