9/06/08 The Tow Truck is Bigger This Time
The tow truck was bigger this time as it brought us from Bath to Auburn Maine due to the water pump going south on us shortly after we started our day today. Thank heavens Terry was able to steer it off the road and into an Exxon station with a mechanic on duty when the power steering gave way. Once the engine cover was removed, the bus filled with the hot, sweet steamy smell of antifreeze that had sprayed all over the engine. AAA got us a very nice tow truck and driver again this time.

I lost again at gin rummy and am now 3,000 points behind him. Haven’t won a game in six days and am feeling rather discouraged. At least I am giving him a run for his money now. He is not winning as big, nor is it in just a few games like it was when we started the trip. I am getting better, but I am playing a masterful player who doesn’t share his secrets nor does he play “soft” to help me win. I can respect both of those things, BUT I do wish I could at least win a game or two to break my loosing streak. Winning four hands to his nine to finally win the game feels better, but I need to get better sooner than later.
