9/23/08 Long day of Missouri and Kansas

9/23/08 Long day of Missouri and Kansas

Today was a long day of driving through Missouri and Kansas. We spent time in Odessa, MO buying stamps, paying bills, getting Terry a hair cut and shopping at Patricia’s Foods. After the grocery shopping, we sat in the RV deciding which way we were going to go. With the maps spread wide, Terry had difficulty deciding to by-pass Kansas City. He has had a steak dinner in mind when we reached Kansas City since we left Maine, but today he decided we were just going to keep going onto Denver. He also ditched one option of going northwest to the mountains and he decided to just head west.

So we drove to the Salino KOA to reach here in time to watch the second night of Dancing with the Stars. The clouds were ominous as we got closer to Salina and I got worried so I used my cell phone to check for severe weather in the area. Just thunderstorms, hail storms and flash floods, nothing major. Fortunately, we just go the edge of the thunder and lightning as well as the rain. That’s right, nothing major!
