June 19-22, 2009 Douglas, WY thru Cody, WY

Our visit to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center was spread over two days. Far more time than the four hours we spent there is needed to see it all. The only moose we saw on the trip was in this museum.

This moose was the only one we saw on the trip.
The Cody Nite Rodeo goes on every night in June, July and August and with covered grandstands the show goes on rain or shine. The night we went the wind was blowing so hard we almost froze right there in the stands. The best part of the rodeo was the junior rodeo contestants and the calf ribbon race by kids from the audience. Mandee was too old to join in the fun, but other youngsters 12 and under lined up on a line and three calves with bandanas tied to their tails. The kids scrambled to be the first to untie the bandana for a prize and to give the rest of us a great laugh.

We went to the rodeo in the evening between our visits to the museum. Mandee and I had fun in the children's part of the museum.
Terry tried his hand at computer painting and we carry home the priceless picture that he produced. He had quite an audience as he did his drawing with it's story.
Mandee is safe beside this grizzly outside of the museum.

These pictures of the river, rocks and hills were taken traveling west towards Cody from Casper, WY.

The Wind River Reservoir is beautiful.
The sage brush smelled so good.
At this rest stop, Terry admired this motorcycle that pulled in as we ate lunch. Very awesome!!!
