9/9/08 Terry's Birthday in Maine

9/8/08 Terry’s Birthday in Maine
We got started pretty early for us and went off to tour the Acadia National Park on Mount Dessert Island, Maine. The weather turned nasty before we had gone to far, but the coast was rugged as any we have seen on the west coast. The difference between these rocks and ours is that their are granite which has a different look to them. Actually most of the island is a national park, but there are several villages on the island too! The largest and most famous is Bar Harbor Maine which is a huge tourist place and playground for the rich and famous with harbors deep enough for their yachts. Some have yachts and huge summer homes so the new and old, huge houses are a sight to see.

After driving around all day on the island, we drove back to Belfast, another harbor, on our way to Kennebunkport, Maine to see the big old home of the Bush family and other celebrities who live there. The bus won’t be ready until at least tomorrow afternoon and maybe Thursday. Hopefully tomorrow so we can return the Hummer3 and sleep in our own beds. Don’t think this trip would have been near as pleasant if we weren’t sleeping in our own beds at night.
