10/2/08 At Home In My Recliner!
About 8:00 pm we arrived home. Thank heavens I cleaned house before we left, but I must admit I couldn't remember what I would find. It was a nice surprise. Seems I have forgotten a number of things in 10 weeks.
After leaving Bozeman, MT, I-90 took us to Missoula for lunch at the Cracker Barrel which is my favorite place to eat when traveling. The second quilt shop I stopped at on the trip is another one of my favorite's and I had fun browsing awhile then back on the road. Our idea was to camp in the mountains for a few days before heading home, but the campgrounds we had in mine were closed for the season. Sooo...we took the Rose Lake exit off I-90 and headed towards Avery, Idaho above St. Maries where Terry grew up. Spending two nights in the mountains to relax and play more gin rummy was a quiet way to end the trip. Terry ended up with a score of 10,000 ish to my 3,000-ish which is about the average for a camping trip. What can I say, he call me a novice and I call him pro! Spruce Tree campground is 87 miles above St. Maries at the end of the road in the St. Joe Wilderness and it is our all time favorite place to camp in the world. The fall colors are gorgeous and rival the colors of New England. The overall color is still green, but the splashes of red, yellow and orange is breathtaking.
I am going to keep the blog going on a sporadic basis for family history events and Terry's health progress. Thanks for keeping up with us in this way. The trip was great! I must admit I didn't sleep very well with the traffic noise in front of the house. The sunrise was great this morning and it is the only the second sunrise I have seen on the trip.
