Bryce Canyon at Rainbow Point

Bryce Canyon, Rainbow Point

Tuesday we felt like tired and allowed ourselves to start late to go into Bryce Canyon. My sunburn through the windows of the RV on my arms turned into a nasty rash. Locals told us the clear air at almost 7,000 feet burned skin faster and harder than in the lowlands so we found a jacket (unfortunately black) the was a knit with an SPF 40 sunscreen rating to it at Ruby's Inn store on the outskirts of Bryce N. P. With that and the sunscreen of 55 that she brought from home and her Filson tin cloth hat, she felt safer being out in the sun. Angry, itching and sore arms are no fun.

Hooray, the National Park Senior Pass is for a lifetime so the $10 we spent last year on the pass continues to get us into the national parks for free. Here is one government idea that continues to help seniors like us extend our dollars. With a $25 fee to enter Bryce and other fee charging parks, we get to count our savings. Yeah!!!

Our stop at the Visitor's center found us adding to our collection of magnets, post cards and other stuff as well. There we were told to drive out the fifteen or so miles to the end of the road at Rainbow Point and then stop at overlooks and pull-outs along the way back as part of the traffic patterns they have in the park. By the time we reached Rainbow Point we both took a nap. I only slept two hours and got to see the sights from the point, but Terry slept much longer and decided to just drive back to our campsite and start again in the morning.
